Tanker 84 serves as the primary means for shuttling water for the Lake Gaston VFD. Tanker 84 responds as the 3rd due piece of apparatus to all structure fires within the Lake Gaston VFD fire district, and 2nd due to all Assistance calls outside of the primary fire district. 84 is equipped to carry 3 firefighters, including 2 with SCBA. 84 has 4 pre-connected hose lines, a pre-piped deck gun, a quick dump for tanker operations, and carries a 2500 gallon drop tank.
